Questions About How To Juggle 5 Balls

Helen asks…

How many people can juggle 5 balls?

After spending months and months practicing, about a two years ago I finally was able to juggle five balls. Now, I'm wondering if this is incredibly rare or somewhat common. Do any of you have any hard figures/links to hard figures?

Thanks!

admin answers:

I'm friends with alot of jugglers, and most of them can juggle 5 balls indefinitely. Being able to juggle 5 balls isn't something most people can do, but it's pretty common amongst people who are actually jugglers, if you can see what im saying.

David asks…

How do you juggle 5 balls?

I have been trying to learn and i kinda got the idea but i still need to learn it better

admin answers:

It takes a lot of practice. I heard once you can do 3, you can do more.

Jenny asks…

How many calories or kilojoules burnt by juggling 5 balls for 1 hour?

I would like to know how many calories or kilojoules are burnt by juggling 5 balls for 1 hour. Also, if possible, 7 balls for one hour too.

admin answers:

The real question is why are you interested in juggling 5 to 7balls?

Donna asks…

HOW many juggling balls is considered basic?

I'm 15 and I can juggle 5 balls (most of the time), my goal is to learn 6 by the end of the year. So how many balls is considered basic juggling?

admin answers:

3...you're on your way

Mary asks…

Physics Juggler Question help?

Hi.

A juggler can transfer a ball from his left hand to his right hand in 0.20 s. If he is juggling 5 balls and releases them from a height of 1.5 m, what is the minimum height of the ceiling? How much higher should the ceiling be if he wants to juggle 6 balls ?

I don't understand the question. Could someone please explain?

admin answers:

Wow!
I would be surprised that your question was not selected among the best of Y!A: really!
I do not think of being able to help you with an answer as valid.
I also believe that you would know the answer more detailed and correct.
Congratulations ...

Questions About How To Factor Trinomials

Mark asks…

how do you factor trinomials quickly and in your head?

I'm in an upper level math class and am fed up with having to factor on paper every time. In class ive noticed some students can factor trinomials even with leading coefficients of two in a second or two. Is there a secret?

admin answers:

Factor the first coefficient.
Factor the last coefficient.

Then find the product that results in the middle coefficient.

It's especially helpful if one of the numbers is prime and has only one possible way of factoring (technically 2 if you count negatives). Also, if you get the right number, but the opposite sign, just flip them around.

It's just practice and experience.

Example:
6x² + 11x - 10

Choices for the first coefficient are: 1 x 6 or 2 x 3
Choices for the last coefficient are: 1 x -10 or 2 x -5 (or reversed).

You are going to have different signs at the end, so you need something bigger than 11 which you will subtract from to get 11.

Basically it is trial and error, but in your head.
1 x 6, 1 x -10 <--- no good
1 x 6, 2 x -5 <-- no good
2 x 3, 1 x -10 <-- no good
2 x 3, 2 x -5 <-- no good
2 x 3, 5 x -2 <-- GOOD

(2x + 5)(3x - 2)

Joseph asks…

How do I factor trinomials on my calculator?

I have a TI-84 Plus Silver edition and need to factor problems such as:

x^2 - 14xy + 24y^2

Is there a program i can download or a specific way to do this type of factoring

admin answers:

X² - 14xy + 24y²
= x² - 14xy + 49y² - 25y²
= (x)² - 7.2.x.y + (7y)² - (5y)²
= (x - 7y)² - (5y)²
= (x - 7y - 5y)(x - 7y + 5y)
= (x - 12y)(x - 2y)

Carol asks…

How do you factor trinomials with lead coefficients other than one?

I have factoring homework for my Algebra 2 class. I remembered everything but this section, so I need help. I know that the steps you have to start with is a*c= whatever and b = whatever then the two numbers that multiple to equal the ac and add for the b, but I'm lost after that. The ones I can't get are 9a^2-6a+1, 6x^2-7x+2, and 2x^2+13x-7... Any help is greatly appreciated.

admin answers:

9a² - 6a + 1 = (3a - 1 )(3a - 1) = (3a - 1)²

6x² - 7x + 2 = (3x - 2)(2x - 1)

2x² + 13x - 7 = (2x - 1)(x + 7)

Helen asks…

How do I factor trinomials with a lead coefficient larger than 1?

Here is the problem:
3x^4 + 5x^3 - 2x^2 = 0
x^2(3x^2+5x-2) = 0
x^2 (3x?__)(x?__) = 0

If you give me the answer, PLEASE show me the work first because the answer won't help me unless I can teach myself how to do it. Can anyone out there teach me how to do this exactly?

Thanks!

admin answers:

3x² + 5x - 2

One method is:

Multiply the first-term coefficient and the last, constant term including the minus sign. (3*-2 = -6).

Figure out two numbers that would multiply to this product (-6) and add up to the middle-term coefficient (+5). They are -1 and 6.

Break up the middle term into two parts, with these two numbers as the coefficients, in either order.
3x² + 6x - 1x - 2

Factor by grouping, breaking up the rewritten polynomial into two halves of two terms each and factoring each half by common factor.
3x(x + 2) - 1(x + 2)

Factor out the common binomial factor.
(3x - 1)(x + 2)

Steven asks…

How do you factor trinomials as the square of a binomial in algebra1 please help?

some examples from my homework are:
t^2-18t+81
25+10t + t^2
100a^2 - 20ab + b^2
49a^2 + 14a + 1
Please show work so i will have an example to do the others please help and thanks!

admin answers:

Unfortunately there is little work you can show for factoring. Basically you narrow down the list of possible factors and then use FOIL to check which ones are valid. Sort of like finding prime factors of integers.

1: t^2-18t+81 = (t - 9) (t - 9)
2: t^2+10t+25 = (t + 5) (t + 5)
3: 100a^2-20a+1 = ( 10a - b) ( 10a - b)
4: 49a^2+14a+1 = ( 7a + 1) ( 7a + 1)

Questions About How To Draw Anime Clothes

Laura asks…

Will i eventually learn how to draw anime clothes?

I'm stuck and I draw anime good but I'm not a profession and I end up copying other artists clothing but drawing my own character myself.. like I don't know anything about folds really but I do know that if I do simple clothing myself I can put them anywhere to see if it makes the clothing look right.. but I'm sad bc idk if I'll be able to draw anime clothing I've imagined in my mind...

admin answers:

Study and practice on real life clothing.

As for folds , best way to study them is either you just simply throw a cloth on the floor or chair , then draw it. If not , get a friend of yours and ask him/her to be your model for live drawing.

Helen asks…

How to draw anime clothes?

admin answers:

Learn it from real life clothings.
Starts from a random piece of cloth. Then study and observe people moving in shirts and etc.
Understand how the folds and such works.
After that , you just add your own details and designs on them.

Mandy asks…

why is it soo difficult for me to draw anime clothes? :/ ..?

well , idk if its because im just a beginner anime artist/drawer or in between but i usually find myself STILL copying others clothes to get better .. at drawing them ; and i have been getting better at drawing them but its just soo difficult for me to draw the on my OWN .. like creating a new outfit for my characters drawing .. its like i dont even know how to draw it out .. : ( yea i know .. ,, SAD . i think im the only one that feels this way and is the only one goin through this difficult situation .. ; its like i can copy clothes but if i was to come up with my own unique style of clothing i come to the point where i have it all visualed out in my head but when it comes time to draw it out i just cant do it .. i havent drawn anime in awhile and my drawing are really really good and ive improved but i could improve even more if i could draw my own clothes ..

admin answers:

Certain types of fabric will behave in a certain way and clothes are no exception. Find some good reference photos, and study where the wrinkles end up and where the fabric will stretch. Once you start to understand how clothes work, it will be an easy thing to convert it into anime/manga style :)

Ken asks…

Why is it so hard for me to draw anime clothes?! . . :'(?

I'm not a profession but I'm having trouble drawing the clothes for some reason it's so weird.. : and it's like I can't even draw my own clothes bc I don't know how time draw even when I know what I want to draw and it's hard for me to draw it out.. it's like I'm not ready and don't have very much knowledge since I've been drawing some months now . . But when I copy profession clothes drawings of others I do great but it makes me upset I can't draw them out on my own but I can do everything else fine . . Anyone else gone through this? :[

admin answers:

Practice by seeing real life clothes. Look at the folds , and study them. Understand why a certain parts needs a fold like this or that. It's not just about practice. You have to practice your observation skills too.

Mary asks…

Where can I learn to draw Anime for free?

Where can I learn to draw Anime style for free? and How to draw anime clothes for free also..If you know any good websites, pls comment down below thank you!!!!

admin answers:

I started off by looking at anime pictures and drawing them out to the best of my ability (not tracing) soon I made my own characters and put them in the poses I had drawn previously and then after I was able to draw my own poses and such. Always look at other pics for ref and study the anatomy, you can do this by looking up pics of real life people and studying their anatomy (i.e how long are the arms in comparison to their waist) so on so forth.

Questions About How To Increase Metabolism Fast

Lizzie asks…

Any ideas on how a 13 year old can lose weight/Increase their metabolism fast?

I'm 13 and I excersize on my treadmill 5 days a week (Mondays-Fridays) for 40-45 minutes. Then Saturdays and Sundays I just chill and prepare for my week of excersize. I don't diet though. I eat everything I like, but after 7p.m I try to stay out of the kitchen because that's when my metabolism starts to slow down. Since i'm still young, I dont wanna take it so hard on this whole excersize plan, but I still wanna get in shape. I'm 13, I weigh 105 lb., and im 5'3 (If it helps). I'm mainly working on my belly, and my hips jiggle, lol so thats what i'm trying to work on. Any ideas to lose weight fast, and increase my metabolism at the same time for my age?

admin answers:

Yes, eat as much raw fruit and veggies as you can. Ask your parents to get you the kinds you like, like maybe watermelon, other melons, or whatever you like the most. Baby carrots are good too. Eat big salads with low fat dressing. Don't eat any sugar, white flour, soda, or packaged junk food, and very little meat (or none), cheese or milk. Eat a little bit of nuts too. Veggies have more calcium than milk anyway.
If you do this you'll never be fat, or have to count calories. Read "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman MD, have your parents read it too. It totally goes against popular ideas about diet, but look how fat everybody is! Do what the thin people do, and ignore everybody else!

Sharon asks…

How would I increase my metabolism very fast and very easy?

i hate looking in the mirror seeing my stomach knowing i like to eat unhealthy foods once in a while and i'm 14 years old weighing in at 163lbs and not happy with it so if you can please please please answer the question i would really appreciate it thanks :D

admin answers:

All the doctors and nutritionists say targeted weight loss is not feasible, specifically in the waist and belly areas, but I achieved it with acai berry. I know they say that pills won't work, nevertheless they sure worked for me, and they've been shown on the Rachael Ray Show too. There is a free trial happening at the moment at http://rarors.myweightlosspro.info , why not try it, what have you got to lose?

David asks…

does biotin increase metabolism?

you know how skinny people has fast metabolisms? well, will biotin increase my metabolism fast enough to loose weight?

admin answers:

No. It will make your wallet thinner.

Maria asks…

How do you increase your metabolism so its super fast ?

I'm pretty sure that I have a slow metabolism, and would like to become skinny. How to i increase my metabolism?

admin answers:

Boost Metabolism
Trying to boost your metabolism probably won't lead to weight loss, at least not to the degree that changing your diet and lifestyle habits will. How much you weigh really depends on the number of calories you eat and how much physical activity you get.
Only rarely is excessive weight gain caused by a medical problem that slows metabolism, such as Cushing's syndrome or an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism).
So focus on the factors you have control over. These can help you manage your weight and possibly improve your metabolism.
•Calories. To lose weight, reduce the number of calories in your diet. And keep in mind that as you age, you may need even fewer calories. This is because the amount of muscle tends to decrease as you get older, leading to an overall increase in fat. Fat tissue burns fewer calories than does muscle.
•Activity. Get more physical activity and exercise. This is especially important to prevent regaining the weight you lose. Aerobic activity helps you burn calories, and strengthening exercises can help you maintain and build muscle mass.

Weight loss is a combination of good nutrition, calorie reduction, and exercising.

Reducing your caloric intake by 3500 calories = 1 pound weight loss

Formula for Success

1. Small Frequent Meals
Don't skip meals or go more than four hours without eating this set you up for later temptation. When meals are more than six hours apart, plan strategic snacks.

2. Eat Moderate Portions
Eat a little less of everything!

3. Beware of Concentrated Sugars
Excess sugar eaten alone causes more insulin secretion. Insulin promotes fat storage and can result in a rebound drop in blood sugar levels. Low blood sugar, in return, stimulates the appetite, especially cravings for more sugar.

4. Eat Foods High in Fiber
Fiber fills you up and helps stabilize blood sugar levels. There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. We need both of them in our diet!

5. Lower Your Fat Intake
Limit foods that are high in fat.

6 . Consume Caffeine in Moderation, If at All
Caffeine, like alcohol, may be contained in beverages considered to be food but the effects of this chemical are definitely drug-like.

7. Exercise at least 3 times a week. Walk, walk, walk, or Run!!! Drink Plenty of water.

Use the charts below to determine your appropriate weight and caloric intake.

Charles asks…

Best diet pill to help burn fat & increase metabolism?

First, let me state that I'm aware that eating healthy & working out HAVE to be done as well, to lose weight.

I'm also looking for the BEST diet pill that helps burn fat faster & increase metabolism. Has anyone use one that they were very happy with?

If so, please tell me which one and what your results were, along with your diet & workout routine and how long you did this for.
Bi Izzy,
I'm sure there is one.... If you can't help by answering the question then DON'T waste YOUR time by posting ANYTHING

admin answers:

I am afraid there isn't one.
The only thing that boosts metabolism and burns fat is movement, exercise.

Questions About How To Install Laminate Flooring

Chris asks…

How do you install laminate flooring under sliding closet doors?

We have closet doors that aren't on tracks, but just has a middle piece screwed to the ground to keep the doors in place. We plan on pulling up the carpet, which goes into the closet. So, I'm wondering what is the proper way to install the laminate flooring there? Should we stop the flooring just outside the closet door and leave the carpet in place inside the closet? Or are we supposed to screw the middle piece to the top of the laminate? Or what?

admin answers:

Do take up the carpet and the center guide, and run your flooring into the closet. I've always left the guide off when installing in a closet with no bottom track. I think the little plastic guide looks really tacky on my beautiful new floor, and I haven't had any problems leaving it off.

Stash the guide piece for now, and if you find that you need it, you can always put it in later (use a dab of construction adhesive (liquid nails) to adhere it to the flooring).

A tip in installing the flooring into the closet-- If the flooring runs parallel to the closet, try to plan the layout so you've got a joint somwhere in the width of the door opening. It's a b*tch to cut and fit it in if you end up with a plank that sits the width of the door opening. If your flooring is running perpindicular to the closet, I like to change direction at the closet so the planks in the closet and across the closet threshold run parallel to the closet. It takes some planning in the layout, but it looks super professional.

Another tip- It's a bit more work, but I always take up the baseboards before installing the flooring and run the flooring right to the edge of the drywall (the drywall *should* be raised up off the floor - if it's not, I trim it up 3/4" from the bare floor). This allows you to trim out the floor with just the baseboard, and looks like a true custom install. To my eye, putting a fat piece of quarter-round tacked to the baseboard looks tacky and screams DIY. Yes, it adds some time to the job. But once you see it done that way, you won't even consider doing the quarter-round solution.

Donna asks…

How to install Quarter Round when installing laminate flooring?

I'm installing laminate flooring in my room,
and I don't know how to install the Quarter round...

The problem is:
I don't want to ruin the floor when taking out the spacers..

Help!

admin answers:

Cut your piece(s) to length, miter ends if necessary
paint them (it's easier to do before you emplace them)
place it in
nail it with a finishing nail into the baseboard, NOT the flooring. Use a nailset when finishing the final few taps so you don't mar the paint.
Drive the nail in slightly past the wood
fill the hole with putty, let it dry, sand it down
touch it up with paint.

If you have to join two pieces to make a long one, cut each end at a 45 degree angle (opposing angles so one will overlap the other) just follow all steps and mask the seem with putty, sand it, then touch it up with paint.

John asks…

How do I install laminate flooring in a room with tiled walls?

I would like to install laminated flooring in my kitchen. Two of the wall are tiled. Is it possible to undercut these tiles or is there an easier method to do a neat installation?

admin answers:

DO NOT cut the tile.

You will crack, chip and split, and potentially ruin much of the tile work. Then you are stuck with a much larger issue.

The solution is simple.

Lay the laminate right up to the tile. Use quarter round molding (small). If you use wood, paint it to match the tile, floor, or simply paint it an accent color. The molding can be glued into place, thus relieving you of further issues and making the transition beautiful between floor and wall.

Tile may also be glued, or use mastic, to place. Then grout. This is, however, a much more expensive option. But, to prevent a potential disaster, it is worth it.

The other, simpler resolution, is to lay the tile right up to the tile and seal between floor and wall with a washable silicon.

Write to me if you have any questions.

Linda asks…

How much to charge for laminate flooring install (labor only)?

I installed laminate floors in my house, and an acquaintance of mine saw my work, and is willing to pay me to install it in his house. It's 300 sq ft, and I don't know what to charge him. He's kind of a friend, and I obviously won't charge professional rates, but what should I charge? $1/sq ft? or $1.50? Any suggestions?

admin answers:

Pro rates will go from 2.50/3.00$ a s/f. So your 1.50 would be just about right for an acquaintance. You may need to discuss extras that may come up that is charged extra for. Rip up and disposal, additional floor prep, removing and reinstalling base or shoe molding. Discuss all possibilities .
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. I ve attended several installation seminars as well as installed a couple 100,000 s/f GL

Sandra asks…

Can I install laminate flooring on uneven floor myself?

Just leased a commercial property, about 3100 sq ft, and the carpet looks horrible. We want to install laminate hardwood, but the labor charges are outrageous! We want to do it ourselves, but wondering if we can do so because there is one part of the property (very small section close to front door) that has a pretty uneven floor - about a couple inches off. How do we go about doing this? Do we need a filler or something? Thanks so much!

admin answers:

You need to level the surface with self-leveling concrete, see this link:

Questions About How To Eat Healthy In College

Maria asks…

How do I eat healthy in college on a $100 food budget?

Like most college students I am always on the go and dont have alot of time to cook. Also like other students I dont have alot of cash. I was wondering what I could do to eat healthy and yet cheaply ($100/month) in college. And I live in the midwest so hopefully a $100 budget is more manageable than the coasts.
Please help me.

admin answers:

You MAY be eligible for food stamps (that could really be your saving grace). If not, you're going to have a very hard time managing to eat 3x/day on a little over $1 / meal.

Richard asks…

How to eat healthy in college?

Okay so I don't live on campus nor do I have any restrictions. I have my own apartment but I can only spend about $100/month on groceries. So I was wondering what I should get when I go food shopping once a month. Things that are healthy and will let me maintain my current weight. I don't like preparing food so anything that is easy to make would be great! Does anyone have any ideas?

admin answers:

Inexpensive & no prep work rarely equates to healthy. You can eat healthy & inexpensively if you cook though. I don't cook often but when I do it's usually 20-30# at one time. I love love love my rotisserie and make turkey & then a roast (so only one clean up) every few months. If I fire up the grill & throw some steaks on to cook, I'll finish off by throwing on 10-20# of chicken leg quarters. I will freeze these up and take out a little at a time.

Walmart (and most grocery stores) usually have 10# chicken leg quarters for $4 ($.40#) I make lots of soup (bone stock) or chicken pizza cacciatore, sugar free pasta sauce (alfredo sauce would probably work, for no tomatoes) pepperoni, mushrooms, mozzarella over steamed cabbage.

I usually get a 20# turkey for .68# - Turkey soup, turkey salad, turkey tetrazinni over cabbage.

I buy the cheapest pork $1# add it to green mexican sauce with fruit add greens & ground flax seed.

I buy lots of canned greens, collard, mustard, turnip - for high nutritional value and lots of fresh cabbage some frozen broccolli.

I usually buy store brand processed cheese (twice the cheese for half price) - Bacon ends & pieces in 4# package - ground flax seed (lots) - canned tuna & mackerel - Buy the huge Mayo (gallon or so) it's half the price of the quart jars - use it instead of buying salad dressing.

Ground flax seed (2-3 Tbsp) 1/4 cup of water, cinnamon, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle and nuke for 1.5 min. For hot cereal or 2 min. For more of a muffin type thing. Great low carb, high fiber treat.

Chia seeds sound so expensive but 1# will make 10# food (when you can splurge some - Amazon.com has couple lbs. For $15 shipped to you.

I also order off Amazon - Lowrey's Pork Rinds 18 for $15 - they pop like popcorn and are portion controlled.

Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together & add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk & artificial sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. Of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.

Mary asks…

Sharon asks…

How do I eat healthy in college.?

Ok, in high school, I lost alot of Weight. I am now in college and am trying to figure it all out. I'm good on the week days, but on the weekends I usually don't go to sleep till 5 am and wake up at around 3 pm. I eat roughly 1500 to 1700 calories day but it's hard to do it on the weekends. I eat six small meals a day , but how do I reach my daily calorie needs while waking up so late ? Imma girl btw

admin answers:

You need to approximately maintain the same sleep schedule every night of the week.
Your 5:00 AM sleep idea is horrible, unless you intend to work a blue-collar graveyard shift the rest of your life. Here is some general advice on diet:

Check a BMI calculator to set your weight goal.

Your BMI should be between 19 and 25.

You should find exercise that fits into your daily routine, like walking to school, bicycling to the grocery store, and hiking through a local park. Try to perform these moderate exercise activities for at least an hour every day. Eat more fruits and vegetables, since these are both filling and filled with the nutrients that your body needs.

Let me give you a summary of my meals in a typical day:

Breakfast: A high-fiber cup of oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. A pint of coffee or green tea.

Alternatively, a high-protein scrambled egg with an Anaheim or Pasadilla pepper, a handful of mushrooms, and half-cup of cheese, with a topping of Greek or Italian spices. Two bananas.

Lunch: Snacking and a meal at work is one orange and two apples; ten-grain, flax-meal, psyllium home-made crackers with a quarter-cup of spreadable soft feta; a quarter-cup of cinnamon-sugar almonds; a pint of coffee; a quart of water.

Alternatively, a soup of clam chowder with a half-cup of added mixed seafood such as clams and octopus or split pea soup; dried figs and apricots to satisfy hunger between meals; a quarter-cup of cayenne-coated sunflower seeds; a quart of water.

Dinner: A half-head of lettuce with thousand island or blue cheese dressing. Two bananas with a glass of milk. Two cups of herbal tea.

Alternatively, a high-fiber, multi-grain and flax meal pasta with red sauce, adding mushrooms, peppers, bok choi, and a few black olives. Another meal is stir-fry vegetables in a ginger terriyaki or vegetable spring rolls with duck sauce. A cup of brown rice or wild rice, not a true rice, as a high-fiber side dish is very filling with green tea or herbal tea.

My daily exercise routine is 16 miles of biking, unless the weather is nasty. If the weather is bad, I run 4 miles a day with a backpack. On my days off work, I usually hike about 5 miles in winter due to snow on my paths and 10 miles in summer. Try to do at least an hour of moderate exercise per day, which can be a commute to pick-up groceries, get to work or school, or a hike in a park or neighborhood.

The best colon cleaners: strawberries, bananas, oatmeal, apples, psyllium husk powder, and flax meal. If these do not work, try a cheap laxative like generic calcium polycarbophil or sennosides. If you still want to pay more for roughly the same effects, try "Acai Berry Cleanse" or Cellular Research Formula "Colon Clear" and "Total Body Purifier." Buy a juicer and pulp apples and other fruits. Make vegetarian stir fry and serve over rice. All of these are safe and effective purifiers.

Beans and Rice!

I start every morning with one cup (dry) of a variety of beans (black, small red, great northern, baby lima, garbanzo, and pinto), and one half cup (dry) of enriched rice.

A twenty pound bag of rice costs between six and ten dollars, and beans are about a dollar a pound (if you don't buy them in bulk).
