Questions About How To Take A Screenshot On A Pc

Robert asks…

How do i take a screenshot on my pc if the page is flash supported?

Im trying to take a screenshot of some of my senior pictures (the proofs) and its not letting me copy and paste it because its flash supported. and i tried the ctrl+print page but i think imdion it wrong. help?

admin answers:

Turn off java in the browser you are using,
then try.

See if you can get a link to where the image is uploaded to.
By right clicking on the image then selecting view image source.

If you have windows 7,
try using the snipping tool.

If using internet explorer,
every single image you look at on the internet
is stored in the internet cache,
get it from there.

Also look in the adobe flash folder found in the AppData > roaming folder.

To take a screen shot.
Just press the Prt Scr key then paste it in to paint
by holding down Ctrl and pressing the v key.

How can I take a screenshot of the WHOLE screen on a PC?

I want to take a picture of the whole screen on a PC. I want to take a picture of the whole screen including the part where I can scroll down. So the whole page. For example, if I search something up on google, there will be a page and I can scroll down. If i do the print screen thing it would only take a picture of the part that I am looking at, not the whole screen with all of the google results. Please help!

admin answers:

To do this you need to use the Print Screen / SysRq button on your computer (may be called 'PrtSc'). However, to capture the parts of the page that require you to scroll to see, you'll need to take multiple screenshots and put them together using a program like Adobe Photoshop.

How do I take a screenshot on my HP pavilion PC?

I know you need to press the prt sc button
but on my prt sc button it also says "home" on it, so it just goes to home instead of taking a screenshot.
Is there like another button I need to press while I take the screen shot?
Thanks

How to take screenshot in Windows with a Mac Keyboard?

I have a MacBook Pro, but I have also installed Windows Vista in it. I use Windows on my mac, but how do I take screenshots with my Mac keyboard? The screenshot buttons don't work in Windows as in Mac, and there isn't a 'screenshot' key on my keyboard.

Can anyone help?

admin answers:

There could be an easier way but the only way I was able to do it was to use the on screen keyboard which gave me access to the Print Screen key.

How can a take a screenshot on a mac without a mac keyboard?

I really want to take a screenshot on my mac computer, but I don't have the mac keyboard so I don't have a command button. How can I do it?

admin answers:

Look in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. If you have a fairly new Mac, there should be a program called Grab. It will allow you to capture an entire screen or a portion you select using the mouse.

Sandra asks…

How do I set it so when I take a screenshot on a Mac it will save to my desktop?

Whenever i take a screenshot on my Mac it only saves to my clipboard but will not save as a file on my desktop. How can i make it so it will go straight to my desktop?

admin answers:

It depends on what you're using to take the screenshot. There's actually a great little screenshot program that comes with your Mac called "Grab." It's in the "Applications / Utilities" folder. You can take a screenshot of your whole screen, just a window, or select a specific area with a box. When you snap the screenshot, the picture of what you just took pops up, and you can do "File / Save as" and save the screenshot wherever you want, including to your desktop.

Questions About How To Take A Screenshot On A Mac And Save It

David asks…

How to post a screenshot in word on Mac, or copy and paste it to make it fit?

I had to take a screenshot of my exam results, i did this by pressing command-shift-3, the screenshot posted on the desktop. I have to save this in a microsoft word doc now.
I am able to copy and paste the results into word but only half of the results show up. I've tried to format it so it is vertical and it still cut half the results off. Anyone know how I can take a screenshot and be able to save it in microsoft word?

admin answers:

Go to menu Insert>Picture>From File.
Browse to where your screenshot is saved, select and OK.
It will be placed as a picture with corner handles which you can scale to fit your document size as you would with any other picture.

Sandy asks…

On a Mac, how do I get grab to take a "video" shot?

I know how to take a selection, window and screenshot. But i am having issues with taking a timed shot.

I am trying to "video" the opening sequence to a website that is blocked at my school. I set-up the timed shot....but it doesn't do anything.....and it auto saves the file as a .tiff

If grab doesn't let you do this....are there any programs that do?

any help would be appreciated!

admin answers:

There's no built-in way.

Download Snapz Pro X from http://www.ambrosiasw.com

it's a great utility, a must-own for mac users

Laura asks…

How can I get Photoshop CS to stop watering down colours when saving JPEGs?

Every time I'm working on something in Photoshop, the colours look perfect until I save the file and then take a look at it elsewhere, such as Firefox. This happens no matter how high-quality I make it (the file sizes that come out are honestly ridiculous) and I haven't found any settings so far that do anything to correct this.

Pre-CS Photoshop never once did this to me without me specifically degrading the image quality, and this has gotten so annoying that I don't even bother using Photoshop's 'Save', I just screenshot it and crop the image out.

(Mac OS X Tiger, CS1.)

admin answers:

You're working in Adobe RGB, not sRGB. It's a different colorspace. A color space tells the operating system how to convert to convert the numeric values in the JPEG file to colors on your screen. Different color profiles have different mappings.

Broswers don't look at color profiles, that's why your images look muddy. Before saving, you'll want to convert (not assign) to profile/sRGB.

How to change neighborhood menu picture on Sims 2?

I know this question has been asked before, but I am having trouble changing the picture of my neighborhood in Sims 2 appear in the start up menu. I tried following the directions given before:

Take a screenshot
Change to 300 x 225 pixels and save as .png
Save to My Documents>EA Games>Sims 2>Neighborhoods>(My neighborhood's file).

ps. I have a Mac. Not sure if this might affect things. I highly doubt it would, but I just thought I would mention it.

I thought I did everything right, but the picture is not coming up when I open the menu. Suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help! :)

admin answers:

"ps. I have a Mac. Not sure if this might affect things. I highly doubt it would, but I just thought I would mention it. "
^ There's your problem. Install Linux over that and it should work fine.

Robert asks…

Picture to Photoshop?

so i took this picture on my mac and i decided i wanted to edit it to turn it into a JPEG file. its saved on my computer and i cant find out how to put the picture on PS, its saved as a Screenshot photo
i have CS4

admin answers:

Open a Finder window and locate the screenshot file, right click on it and go to Open With. Default will likely be Preview, but Photoshop will be a bit further down in the list.

If you used Photo Booth to take the initial picture, you can bypass the screenshot stage for a better result: click on the image you want to edit in the filmstrip, go to File>Reveal in Finder and from there right click on the file and go to Open With.

How do I take a screenshot of my desktop on Windows 7?

I want to take a screenshot of what i have displayed on my screen on my laptop. My computer is Windows 7 and I want to know if I am able to do this instead of breaking out my digital camera and taking a picture that way.

admin answers:

On XP, hitting the "print screen" key on the far top right corner will take a screenshot into the computers copy/paste buffer. Meaning when you go to an image editor or microsoft word just paste and it will apear.

It will have the border and stuff so look up cropping to cut that picture down to what you want, its really easy and can be done in paint (and saved).

Sandra asks…

How do I find the screenshots I take on World Of Warcraft?

I take the screenshot, and when i go to the world of warcraft folder i do not have a screenshot folder and they do not show up in any other folder under world of warcraft. I tried paste on like paint or another program and the picture doesnt show up, its just a picture of my desktop. I have windows 7.

admin answers:

First, you might be looking at a different World of Warcraft folder. The "Screenshots" folder is found in the same World of Warcraft folder as the "Cache", "Patches" and "Interface" folders.

If it's not there, then just create a new one and then try to see if your screenshots will be saved there. If not, then maybe your game is storing it somewhere else.

Try running a search on your computer for a Screenshots folder, and you'll most probably find it.
