i was told that a goodway to cook pumpkin seeds is to clean them off, but not completely so the flavor remains. i was told to put a little olive oil on them on a cookie sheet with salt. how long do i roast them for and is that a good way to make them? my friend is having a halloween party and i want to make a lot of them for it. thankss.
also, what temp do i put them in the oven at? thanks

admin answers:

Place them on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with some seasoning if you like then put in the oven for about 10 minutes. Watch carefully so they don't burn.

How long do i cook pumpkin seeds?

I making pumpkin seeds i want to make them taste really good what do i use?

admin answers:

This is what I use every year I roast my pumpkin seeds. If you don't want to use salt you can sprinkle on Greek Seasoning unsalted. You can buy it at Walmart. It's in the spice isle. So much nicer without all the salt.
Ok, Rinse all the gooky stuff off the seeds and pat them dry. Spread on a cookie sheet that has been coated with cooking spray or oil, sprinkle with salt (optional, can substitute Greek Seasoning), and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, tossing about half way through.

James asks…

How do I cook pumpkin seeds?

We just carved pumpkins and we have the seeds and they're already dry and ready to cook, but I don't know how to cook them....any suggestions?

admin answers:

Separate the seeds of a freshly carved pumpkin from the stringy membrane. Rinse the seeds just until they are free of any membrane matter.

Step 2Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 3Put the seeds on a paper towel and let them dry for a few minutes.

Step 4Spray a baking sheet with butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray or brush with a light coating of vegetable oil. Put the seeds on the baking sheet in a single layer, turning to coat lightly with the spray or the oil. Sprinkle the seeds lightly with salt, if desired.

Step 5Put the baking sheet in the oven. Cook the seeds for 10 to 20 minutes, or until brown and slightly crisp, turning once. Allow to cool before eating.

Step 6Store seeds in an airtight container.

This is a recipe I used before:
* Pumpkin seeds
* Cooking spray, olive oil, or butter
* Optional: Salt, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, or other seasoning of choice

Preparation:
Rinse pumpkin seeds. Use your fingers to remove all the pulp. Drain pumpkin seeds and discard pulp. Spread out on a cookie sheet to dry overnight.

Preheat oven to 250 F. Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil.

Toss pumpkin seeds in olive oil, butter, or spray with cooking spray. Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper, or your choice of seasonings. Toss to coat.

Bake about 1 hour, tossing every 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Cool pumpkin seeds before eating. Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 months or refrigerate up to 1 year.
