Richard asks…
What's the best way to do a fishtail braid on yourself?
For the longest time, I've been able to do french braids and regular braids and other different hairstyles on myself and other people. However, I've never heard of a fishtail braid until a few years back and I've always been confused when I looked up how to do one. I was just wondering if someone could just simply explain to me how to do a fishtail? Please and thanks :)

What are some different hair-dos you can do with a fishtail braid? Also, how to naturally curl your hair?
I finally learned how to fishtail braid good, and I was wondering what some good hairstyles would be that involve fishtail braids? I'm 13, have long, wavy, dark brown hair. Also, I was wondering how can you naturally curl your hair? (Not using any heat to make it curl). Thanks for any help! :)

You can do a french fishtail going down across your head. Or even have it go down to the side. And to naturally curl it, i usually just braid mine to get bohemian waves. There are also videos i learned on how to curl your hair without heat .
You have to watch this video first:

How do I make a perfect fishtail braid?
I've always wanted to fishtail my bangs so the braid is right next to my hairline. Like its going down the side of my face. I see pictures of models on the runway with this and a very low side ponytail. I try and try but i have no clue how to do it.
The picture attached is what I hope to have it look like

How do you do a do a fishtail braid?
So almost everyday, my friend does a fishtail braid on me, but I want to know how to do one myself! I have long blond hair if that helps. Thanks!
admin answers:
1. Separate hair into two equal sections at the back of the head. Fishtail braiding requires only two sections (not three, like a classic or French braid).
2.Start the fishtail braid by holding the right section with your right hand. Then, using your left hand, pick up a small chunk (a half-inch) of hair from the outside of the left section and cross it over to the inside of the right section.
(Hint: Try picking the hair up from the area near the base of your ear. It’s important to pull sections from underneath when you cross over to get that scaly look.)
3.Repeat on the other side: Hold the left section in your left hand. Use your right hand to pick up a half-inch of hair from the outer right section and cross it over to the inside of the left section.
4.Continue adding small sections and crossing them over until you reach the ends of your hair, and secure with an elastic. Pull on the braid a bit to loosen it.

How to Fishtail Braid
The Fishtail braid, also known as the Herringbone or Fishbone, looks elaborate and time-consuming. But it's actually fun and easy to do!
[edit] StepsStart with clean, well-combed hair. It may be easier to braid if your hair is slightly damp.
Put your hair up in a ponytail if you wish.
Divide the ponytail into two sections.
Pull a skinny strand of hair from the outside of the left section, and add it to the right side. Pull it tight.
Do the same for the right side. Pull a skinny strand of hair out from the outside of the right section, and add it to the left side. Pull it tight.
Repeat steps 4-5 until the braid is the desired length.
Secure the end of the braid with an elastic band, bow, or hair tie.
[edit] TipsThe skinnier the strand you use, the more intricate the braid will look. In general try to use the same thickness throughout or your braid will look uneven.
You can use bobby pins to secure flyaways.
[edit] WarningsNever use standard office rubber bands in your hair; they will damage your hair.
[edit] Things You'll NeedHair tie, bow, or elastic band
Brush or comb
Medium to long hair
Bobby pins (optional)
Mirror (optional)
