How do you jailbreak and Ipod touch 3G with the 4.0 update?
I've seen how to jailbreak iPod touches, but I havn't seen any "How-to's" on how to jailbreak 3G iTouches with the 4.0 update. And it has been said that 3G itouches encounter problems when jailbreaking. Which form of jailbreaking is the safest? Thanks.
Youtube didn't help me.
For some reason, Blackra1n isnt working.
What other jailbreaking software can I use.
admin answers:
Ugh You cannot jailbreak 4.0 with blackra1n. Do research before you go and use any random jailbreaking software. Blackra1n only works with 3.1, 3.1.1, and 3.1.2. As of now, there is no jailbreak for the iPod Touch 3G running OS 4.0 The only ones that can be jailbroken on OS 4.0 are the iPod Touch 2G Non MC Models and the iPhone 3G. The program Redsn0w is used to jailbreak those devices. Blackra1n will never jailbreak 4.0 so don't keep trying, if Geohot decides to work on his jailbreak it will be at limera1n.com But he has no plans...
Bottom line, you can't jailbreak right now.

How to jailbreak ipod touch 3g?
I got a ipod touch 3g 8gb 4.2.1. mc model. I tried greenpoison but when everything
was done and i went to look for cydia on my touch it wasnt there. what should i do should
i try a different one or wat?
admin answers:
Remember: after jailbreaking with greenpois0n, you will NOT have Cydia on your iPod Touch just yet. Greenpois0n puts an application called "Loader," which you can use to install Cydia. If greenpois0n says that the jailbreak was a success and you do not have "Loader" on your iPod Touch, try out the recently released Jailbreakme 3.0 as an alternative jailbreak method.
I hope this helps!

How to jailbreak iPod touch 3g 32 gb 3.1.3 mc model?
I'm looking to see if there is a way to jailbreak the above specs for an iPod touch. I'm looking for a youtube video or link to downloadable software. Thanks!
admin answers:
Well, it is impossible right now, because this firmware was developed to pretty much make jailbreaking impossible, but you can downgrade your ipod 3g 3.1.3 to 3.1.2, which is jailbreakable, by following these steps:
1. Download Original iPod Touch 3.1.2 IPSW file
Check in below location on Windows (C:/Users{your windows user name}/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPod Software Updates)
2. Make sure that your iPod Touch 3G is not connected to the PC/Mac
3. Now Power Off Your iPod Touch 3G
4. Now hold the home button. Keep holding it for 10 seconds and then connect your iPod touch to PC/Mac while holding the Home button.
5. If you see the “Connect to iTunes” message on your iPod touch then it means you are now in recovery mode:
6. Once in recovery mode. Click on iPod Touch Device on iTunes Sidebar and press Shift + Click on restore button will be prompted open firmware location. Give it the locations where your firmware 3.1.2 is located and click OK.
After you see iTunes message of restoration successful you are back to firmware 3.1.2 and can jailbreak once again.
Then once your ipod is down to 3.1.2 you can use this site, that has both an accurate step by step description for what to do AND a link to the download of the program used
http://www.ithinkdiff.com/jailbreak-ipod-touch-os-3-1-2-with-blackra1n/
REMEMBER: on the site there is a link for a guide on how to jailbreak a 3.1.3 but IT DOESN'T WORK i tried it on my ipod touch 3g and i had to completely restore my ipod because it froze
