Questions About How To Jump Higher In Basketball Fast

how can i jump higher so i can dunk a basketball?

im 5'8 and i can grab the rim but i cant put the ball in. i barely get up there. I need to jump higher fast becasue i wanna dunk please help

Do uphill biking exercises, this will improve not only your jumping ability but also your quick step acceleration. By attacking uphill on my bike, I was able to jump about 6" higher and my speed was mostly unmatched on most courts I've walked on to. You want to do 1-2 hour uphill biking for about 3 or 4 times a week. You'll definitely see an improvement in your ups.

A side note: To dunk a ball, you've also got to be able to get a good grip the ball. Its much harder to dunk if you can't palm the ball. Dunking takes a lot of energy, I find that layups are just as effective even though it isn't as flashy, but you'll stay in the game for much longer.

Why do many basketball players have small calve muscles? How do you get them toned to jump higher and be fast

I was looking at after the game photos, and noticed that many of the high flyers in the NBA have unusually slim calve muscles. I've heard it makes you faster, and increases verticle. How do you get yours to be like that? It's hard to play basketball with bulky calves. Will calve raises and stuff make them bulkier. Many people suggest running... Ten points for best answer.


Also, do you have any other tips? When ever I play against taller people, it seems that they can drive to the hoop with ease. Any tips on getting past people for a layup?

Back throtting is really good to slim your calves also swimming with just your legs really works your leg and it all depends on the weight you do them at
Use your speed and try pass fakes the always work for me

you no ther's this guy in my collage that playes basketball and does these dunks. i aint that short am an normal sized and hight guy but what am i supposed to do to jump more higher and make dunks. i have recently started to play basketball so am kinda new at it what is the most fastest way for me to jump higher thanks

There isn't a fast way, but look into plyometrics exercises.

p90x has a program for plyometrics, its extremely good. I'm sure you can find stuff on youtube as well.

How do i get in shape for basketball im 6ft. 200-210 and im trying to dunk and be fasted and jump higher?

Run a mile for a week if you cant run two laps then build off from there. Want to dunk lot of leg exercises like squat calf raises jumprope leg press etc. Abs crunches sit ups flanks. And back exercises pull ups and dumbells. Pushups will be a plus too. But running should be #1

how to get a faster first step in basketball and jump higher.?

1.) Calf Raises: 3 sets of 50 reps


2.) Line Jumps: Quick line jumps staying on your toes - 5 sets of 1 minute each


3.) Jump Rope - 15 minutes of jumping rope.


4.) Box Jumps - Grab a large enough box that will stay in place and keep you safe. Do 1 foot and 2 foot jumps (3 sets of 20 each)
If i do this daily, will this help my first step in basketball? on the calf raises i am not using any weights. Any other things i should add and i wont use any weights and i plan to double it every 2 weeks. How will i get results? When should i see results? 2 weeks? also if i start running a mile will this help if i go full speed all the way through?

Ya but don't do this everyday. Do the first 3 exercises 3 days a week and the box jumps once a week
